Singapore and Uzbekistan Sign Economic Cooperation Agreement

Singapore and Uzbekistan today signed an economic cooperation agreement that will strengthen and develop trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. It also aims to stimulate new areas of economic interaction, such as the creation of joint ventures, industrial cooperation, marketing, leasing and management.

Under the agreement, both countries shall encourage business collaboration in the private sector in areas such as light industry, transport, energy, public health, small-scale businesses, information technology, tourism and education.

Total trade between Singapore and Uzbekistan last year stood at S$7.9 million. Singapore’s key exports to Uzbekistan are telecommunications equipments, data processing machines and other electrical and electronic products.
