Public Consultation on the Electronic Litigation Roadmap Paper

Following the phased implementation of the Electronic Filing System (EFS) commencing in 2000, the Honourable the Chief Justice set up an EFS Review Committee to conduct a review of the EFS in 2003. One of the key tasks of the Committee is to devise a holistic approach to integrate the use of technology in the litigation process, harnessing the benefit of experience gained through the implementation of the EFS since 2000.
A one-day Electronic Litigation Colloquium was organized on 17 April 2004 to provide a forum for discussion and brainstorming. Representatives from InfoComm Development Authority and technology vendors in the legal sector were also invited to participate in the Colloquium. The discourse at the Colloquium and over the intervening period has been synthesised into the present paper entitled, Electronic Litigation in Singapore: A Roadmap for the Implementation of Technology in the Litigation Process.

All stakeholders in the civil litigation process are invited to participate in the consultative process. Your comments and feedback will be crucial in moulding the IT landscape of the civil litigation process of the future. The public consultation will be open for a period of one month commencing 10 January 2005. The Electronic Litigation Roadmap Paper can be found in the Supreme Court Website.
